Frequently Asked Questions
What writing projects are you currently working on?
Presently, I’m compiling book two of the Invisible Powers series, due to be released around June or July 2012. I say compiling rather than writing since each chapter is already written and was a radio broadcast series which I felt led to compile into a series of books.
I’m interested in knowing more about your books. How much experience do you have in writing Christian non-fiction?
I began writing Christian non-fiction back in 1993 but it started out with just making notes. While researching what was happening to Christians as well as non-Christians and comparing our trials and tribulations with the worlds events I began to see where there were way too many areas no one or very little was being spoken about the connection. In other words, why weren’t people using Bible revelations to turn their problems into success stories? The answer was so obvious I couldn’t keep it to myself. That meant doing research, writing it down and delivering the facts even though I knew the controversy coming from the world would be something I would have to deal with. No two people think alike, even Christians differ on many subjects and have various views on the same scripture. But somehow I had to tell it because I could not find much of what I was addressing out there.
Why did you use radio broadcasting first rather than writing books?
Because I kept seeing that being done in my mind, and my spirit kept confirming it to me through much prayer.
Why are you now turning your broadcasts into eBooks?
Again, one thing led to the next and I kept seeing that the messages, the stories were so relevant to what most people are experiencing and traveling through in their lives today. I knew the words in these chapters would be a life-line to many to keep them from falling away. It was a matter of being obedient to the Spirit that resides in me by God.
What is the recommended order for reading your books?
Invisible Powers (series)
#1 Loose Yourself and Run
#2 Hearing Truth
#3
Will you be also writing in any other genre besides Christian non-fiction?
Yes, I have a series in my head which is Christian fiction. I’m not at liberty to release the details at this time but it will entice young adults and will definitely bring a lot of controversy because there are so many books already written which should be ripped off the shelves. Kids today are subjected to reading garbage which is used by the enemy to take them places they never need to go in life, dangerous arenas. The series God is giving me for a very near future will expose the dirt behind what’s already been feed to our precious youth’s young minds and hopefully set them free to make better choices in life.
When did you first start writing?
I began to love books and reading at a very young age. I wrote short stories at the age of eight and kept diaries for many years. I’ve written letters and articles as well as periodicals for many years. I didn’t become serious about writing eBooks until just recently that’s why you probably won’t be able to find my works on the internet or in book stores.
How do you create a story?
When I begin each day with my Bible in hand and I devote the first part of each day to the Lord through reading wherever He leads me I noticed years ago that I would intermittently read and pray at the same time. I would also not just receive the words for myself and family but I could sense a yearning to somehow help others with the truths I was being presented with. I felt in my spirit other people who were hurting and walking through trials and I also knew of friends and relatives who were suffering. But God took one more step and allowed me as well to walk through much difficulty in many various areas so now I can write not just by learned information but by actually experiencing and walking through the tough places also. So in each chapter I create truth regarding real life situations and what we can do to solve problems not just talk about them.
Do you outline your books before writing or “wing it” as you go?
I do both. I find that I outline and make notes as the material comes to me. I never know when I’m going to receive a lot of what I write about. Sometimes it’s during devotions, other times it’s in the middle of chores and often I’m awoke in the night time and I keep a tablet and pen next to my bed so I don’t miss anything important. I’ve noticed if I begin to hear words running through my head and I say “Later, I’ll write them down in a little while,” I’ll lose the thoughts entirely. I’ve learned that writing for me is also being obedient to what’s being delivered at the time not at a later, more convenient time.
What is your favorite and least favorite aspect of writing books?
My favorite part is when I’m hearing so much truth running through my head and I jump to my computer to capture it the awesome knowledge that God would use someone as insignificant as me to deliver words to people who love truth as well as inspirational reading. I can literally feel God’s love for people as he breathes life giving words through me and paints pictures and ways of helping them through whatever they’re going through.
How does reading your books help readers understand life struggles and trials and how to cope with them?
I always pray over my work even as I’m hearing it and writing it. I believe the readers who are most attracted to my books are those who are not satisfied with what’s going on around them in this world of ours. They are searching for universal truths and they are sick and tired of being lied to by politicians, the media even people in their circle of friends are beginning to bring questions to their minds about life-styles and belief systems. Each of us must deal with the problem of pain and suffering, trials and tests on some level through our span of life. My books offer hope; courage and just plain tie together the Biblical answers to every day circumstances that otherwise seem more difficult to comprehend. God becomes more real and personal through my books. I use very descriptive words to apprise my readers of the powers in this world, and desire to make sense for them how to deal with the unseen spirit world which most people like to forget or at least stay away from. In not having knowledge this leaves people in a dangerous dilemma so I expose both worlds, the two invisible forces for who they truly are; God and Satan. And then I describe the third force or power which is you, the Christian.
What would you write if there were no barriers to prevent it?
Precisely what I believe God is constantly nudging me to…the type of books I’m currently writing plus the series I see in my head which is Christian fiction. My desire is that when a reader puts down one of my books he or she says, “I’ve never quite heard it put that way before, or I didn’t know that’s what it meant, or I feel I can now step forward and actually put legs to that vision, that passion in my heart, or I never knew I was that important.” I want my readers to know the God who created them on a personal level of tremendous love and worth; just the opposite from some of the garbage the world feeds individuals through many avenues.
