Looking For Friendly People

March 5th, 2010

My husband and I teach a Bible Study class locally as well as an online one each week, and today I was casually checking out different meet up groups online and I came across one that advertised its ‘fun people.’  That intrigued me so I checked out the page where they asked their members why they kept returning to gather with this group.  I don’t know how many times I read that people liked to gather with this group because the members were ‘friendly.’  I saw; fun conversation, laid back, mellow group, friendly people, relaxed atmosphere, good conversation, laid back, fun conversation, can unwind easily, condusive to good conversation…etc.

These people were not claiming to be Christian, just fun loving people who liked to meet for coffee or tea and share their hearts with others. We are in a world where there are so many people up tight and angry because of all the unfairness, deception, cheating, stealing, government problems, health issues, unemployment, and the list goes on. People need a place to gather where they are accepted and ministered to by a friendly reception just straight out. People need a place to go where they can speak their mind and not be jumped on or cut down, but received with a loving answer or sometimes even a smile of love or a word of ‘I’m listening’, can help the hurting get through one more day of whatever’s on their plate.

I want this blog to be a place where when people think of it, they see a smile and a warm heart waiting.  A place where you can grab your coffee or cool drink and just look forward to meeting someone who will share a thought, a word, perhaps a scripture or short prayer with you.  I hope to add short mp3 audios also, so when  arriving maybe just  a word of encouragement is all you need.  So, we need you to add your comment, share your thought and please feel welcome that we are a casual, social circle where you can relax and unwind and just share your heart knowing that someone on the other side truly cares. ;-)   Thanks, Be blessed!

Hi, I’m Susan David and this is the first post on my new blog, ‘Truth Without Compromise.’  This is a Christian blog where the body of Christ can gather and converse with one another about things that ‘truly matter’.  It’s a place where we are free to be open about what’s on our heart knowing that there are many others who feel the same as we do and just need a place to rest and express.

Being a Bible teacher for many years and broadcasting a weekly radio broadcast for over 9 years called ‘Tell It Like It Is’, I found the broadcast was a release for me to have a place to share my heart after spending time with God each day. By the letters, emails and phone calls I realized how very many people were also feeling the very same things I was about life and they were looking for a place to express themselves.   We all need outlets for our thoughts, passions and feelings and what better place than to share with other believers and get feed back to help us all grow and learn together.  As the Lord moved me away from the radio He later placed an interest in my heart to continue to help others so I received my Christian life coaching credentials and just extended my many years of mentoring into also coaching others.  Quite frankly I really don’t see much difference between mentoring and coaching.  I just like to see people get set free and be able to move toward God and their purpose without hindrance from past mistakes, energy drainers, even the devil’s devices.

I still teach Bible, although I retired from the radio broadcasts, my husband, Wayne and I teach an online live Bible Study class by the same name, Truth Without Compromise, on Thursday evenings, which you can check out at www.susandavid.org.  See the link LIVE Bible Study.  Would love for you to join us. We open the lines for you to participate right after the teaching.

So, now back to this blog, well,  This blog is a perfect place to visit often if you are a Christian, and also if you are serious minded but also love to have fun.  And, if you like talking about things that truly matter, you’ll love this blog.  The following benefits come to me about why you may want to join here:  This is a place where people have more to say than, ‘What are you doing?’   This is a place where when you participate in the conversations you receive value, build strength, truly connect with the heart of God and others and when you leave you know you’ve gained something, as well as left something for others.  You have a sense of beauty and worth.

Here’s what you won’t see, which other forums and blogs are crammed full of…    Uninteresting topics, such as ‘How’s the weather?’  or ’What did you watch on TV last night?’  You know, you’ve been there, just idle chitty-chat.  We want conversations that are relevant to what’s happening in our lives and what’s happening around us.   Of course there are times when the weather is important to discuss, like when there’s been a hurricane, earth quake or other weather pattern disaster that effects us as a people.  We also want to make sure we include the Lord in our discussions.  We want to speak about our families, our nation, our jobs, our churches, our government.

We are praying over this blog so that when you visit you will take with you a new strength, wisdom, power, understanding and anointing that will give your life and your family increased love, new joy and much peace.  We want to help make a difference in your life.  If the content in this blog can be a happy place for you to come, join in, make friends, receive laughter and substance, draw closer to God and others, then it will be well worth it.

Please join in, and tell your friends.  We will be adding many categories very soon and we are open for suggestions. We want this to be a community effort of the body of Christ.  So, welcome, thank you for reading, and please post.  God bless you!  Susan
